ICT Total Prep is a concentrated, professional-grade efflorescence and stain remover for preparing compatible masonry before sealing or protection. It dissolves efflorescence and helps remove ground-in dirt, light traffic marks and iron stains from surfaces that include concrete or brick pavers, concrete slabs, concrete block and retaining walls. The manufacturer states that it contains no hydrochloric acid and neutralizes with water.
Test a small area first. Add Total Prep to water in a plastic container; never add water to the concentrate and do not use hot water. Current ICT dilution guidance is 1:4–5 for pavers, 1:2 for broom-finished concrete, 1:4 for concrete block and 1:7 for smooth-finished concrete.
Pre-wet the surface with fresh water. Apply the diluted solution with a masonry brush or plastic watering can. On vertical work, proceed from the bottom up and keep lower areas wet to reduce streaking. Allow 3–5 minutes of dwell time without letting the product dry, then rinse thoroughly and pressure-wash after the final application so all residue is removed.
Read the current label, technical data sheet and Safety Data Sheet before use. Protect people, vehicles, metal, painted surfaces, plants and other non-masonry materials. Keep the product off glass and anodized aluminum. Avoid breathing spray mist and wear chemical-resistant gloves, eye protection and suitable footwear. Keep the container closed and out of reach of children.
