nelson-wood-shims
Nelson 8-Inch Tapered Wood Shims — Box of 120

Nelson 8-inch tapered wood shims provide fine, incremental adjustment when leveling countertops, cabinets and other supported components. The thin feathered end slips into a narrow gap, while the gradual taper lets an installer raise or align the work with controlled movement. This listing is for one closeable carton containing 120 natural-wood shims.

Product details

Nelson identifies the Pro-Pack shim as approximately 8 inches long, 1 3/8 inches wide and 1/4 inch thick. The shims are kiln-dried and hand-sorted for consistent quality. The manufacturer states that the natural wood contains no chemical treatment, additives or fumigation. The flip-top carton keeps the bulk pack organized between uses and is intended for countertop, cabinet and other building applications.

Installation guidance

Insert the feathered end into the gap and advance the shim gradually until the supported component reaches the required position. Use opposing shims when the installation method calls for a parallel bearing surface, and confirm that the final assembly transfers load to suitable framing or support. Trim protruding material only after alignment and fastening are complete. Natural wood can react to moisture and site conditions, so verify that the shim material and placement suit the project specification, especially in damp or exterior locations.

Product-family photos are illustrative of the named model.
